Established in 2006, Canterbury Tahr Hunting evolved when friends/colleagues who had worked with John Royle referred more inexperienced hunters to take trips with him to learn how it should be done. John knows the mountains like the back of his hand.  His hunting career commenced in the 1980’s as a government culler working in both the north and south islands. John’s trips are Taylor made for you! Developed to meet your abilities and wishes – no two hunts being the same.  All hunts are conducted in the wild – where the animals naturally live. John is the “real deal”, enjoys the openness of the country and will push you to push the boundaries and accomplish the hunt of a lifetime.
